Day two was all about prejudices, hate speech and stereotypes, at least the morning part was. We did the Prejudice train: exercise involving discrimination and hate speech after which we have discussed in plenary. Also, we did an Self-reflection using Bogardus scale of social distance and finished morning part with input on the mechanism of discrimination and hate speech. In the afternoon, we have shared individual realities and realities in communities our participants are living in. We have started with individual reflection using metaphorical cards, then sharing in groups based on the cards and at the end we have been creating a community map in the whole group. In the last session of the day, for sharing community realities we have used the methodology based on method “A peaceful story” from IFM SEI Peace Education Handbook for Educators, it involved also small group work and wrap-up in Plenary.
How all of this looked, please see in a video which can be found HERE.
